In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) administration has decided to establish two state-of-art pesticide testing labs at two places in north and south Kashmir to save farmers from an influx of spurious chemicals which have wreaked havoc with the horticulture sector.Horticulture Director, Kashmir, Aijaz Ahmad said that though the department has established a central pesticide testing laboratory but now the government has decided to establish two more such laboratories in North and South Kashmir to check the menace of spurious pesticides.“There is a dire need to check the use of spurious pesticides in Kashmir as it causes huge damage to our fruit industry. In the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the J&K Football Association (JKFA) conducted a refresher course for fresh referees, followed by conducting annual examination for category 4 and 5 at TRC Srinagar.Around 60 referees from different districts participated in the examination of which 35 referees of Jammu/Kathua also participated in the online examination.
