In late June, China’s highest political advisory committee will convene.

China’s highest political advisory body, the Standing Committee of the 14th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, will hold its second session on June 26 and 27.

The choice was made on Wednesday during the fourth Chairperson’s Council meeting of the 14th CPPCC National Committee. Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the gathering.

In order to enhance their capacity for providing political advice, Wang encouraged the meeting’s participants to put more effort into conducting in-depth inquiries, research, and consultations.

The meeting reviewed and approved the revised work rules for the specialist consultative forums of the CPPCC National Committee, as well as a work plan for holding such forums. It also approved a set of guidelines for enhancing and improving the work of the CPPCC National Committee with regard to investigations and research.
