J&K: Volleyball Championship League by 19 Rashtriya Rifles concludes

With the aim to constructively engage the youth of Anantnag district in Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), 19 Rashtriya Rifles of Larkipora, under the aegis of headquarters 2 Sector, organized a volleyball tournament at Dialgam Company operating base.
A total of 16 teams from Anantnag participated in the championship. The final match was played on November 13 between Brienty and Kanganhal villages in polytechnic college, Larkipora. In a strongly contested match, Brienty village emerged victorious.
The event attracted more significance since the tournament was jointly conducted by the Indian army and civilians.
The champion team and the runner up team were awarded cash prizes of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000, respectively by second Commanding Officer, 19 RR Lt. Col. Major Manpreet.
The event was attended by BDO Larkipora, Malik Asif Ahmad and all village elderlies of nearby villages. The locals appreciated the efforts of 19 Rashtriya Rifles for holding the event in a befitting manner and requested to organize similar tournaments in the future for positive engagement of youth.
