The Ministry of Tourism under the aegis of the government of India has organized a mega tourism promotion event in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar from April 11 to 13. Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha and Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Prahlad Singh Patel addressed the delegates at the inauguration of the event titled "Tapping the Potential of Kashmir: Another Day in Paradise". J&K: ‘Save Jhelum’ trek organised for children in Srinagar

In order to create awareness about keeing the Jhelum river pollution free, a one-day trek was organised for children from Jammu and Kashmir’s (J&K) Srinagar on Saturday. Shugul organised the event in collaboration with MTC Club. The event, “Save Jhelum”, saw the participation of 70 students from Srinagar’s Zabarwan park to Shankaracharya hills. Children from many schools took part in the hike to remind the society of the importance of keeping the river cleans and on keeping oneself fit by doing exercises. J&K government to upgrade 180 public schools into smart schools

In the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Srinagar city administration has embarked on an ambitious project to transform all government schools with owned buildings in the district on modern lines, equipping them with smart facilities and modern infrastructure.Under the project, a total of 180 schools, including 120 in urban areas and 60 in rural areas of the district, are being upgraded in terms of facilities. These schools will be equipped with modern facilities through interventions at infrastructural and operational levels.The project follows the successful completion of the pilot project of modernising 25 selected government schools taken up and completed during the last fiscal year. J&K Football Association conducts refresher course for referees

In the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the J&K Football Association (JKFA) conducted a refresher course for fresh referees, followed by conducting annual examination for category 4 and 5 at TRC Srinagar.Around 60 referees from different districts participated in the examination of which 35 referees of Jammu/Kathua also participated in the online examination. Taking advantage of the COVID-19 induced lockdown, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken the initiative to install LED street lights in Srinagar under the Smart Cities mission.Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, District Magistrate, Srinagar said the work of installing LED street lights were done for the last five to six months.
