J&K government to upgrade 180 public schools into smart schools

In the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Srinagar city administration has embarked on an ambitious project to transform all government schools with owned buildings in the district on modern lines, equipping them with smart facilities and modern infrastructure.Under the project, a total of 180 schools, including 120 in urban areas and 60 in rural areas of the district, are being upgraded in terms of facilities. These schools will be equipped with modern facilities through interventions at infrastructural and operational levels.The project follows the successful completion of the pilot project of modernising 25 selected government schools taken up and completed during the last fiscal year. J&K: Kupwara District Commissioner inaugurates Skill Institute

Under the much ambitious phase three of the ‘Back to Village’ (B2V3) running in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, District Development Commissioner (DDC) of Kupwara, Anshul Garg inaugurated a Skill Training Institute.The Institute provides multiple vocational training courses including fashion designing and plumber courses. It was informed that the first batch of 20 female trainees have completed the course of fashion designing.On the occasion, the DDC interacted with the female trainees who put forth several demands before him. He directed the Superintendent ITI Kupwara (Nodal Officer for Skill Development) to submit a proposal for establishment of Skill Institutes at the places demanded.He stressed upon the concerned to tie up the artisans with Entrepreneurship Development

Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan inaugurated the 21-day ‘Jan Abhiyan’ in the Union Territory’s Bandipora district by holding a public outreach program at Sumbal and distributing domicile certificates and sports kits among the youth.On the launching ceremony of Jan Abhiyan, Advisor Khan distributed 2000 domicile certificates among the local residents in a single day in Bandipora. He also distributed sports kits among different sports clubs of the Sumbal sub-division.He also interacted with more than 28 delegations who apprised him of their grievances and demands pertaining to development of their respective areas.While responding to the grievances of these delegations, Khan gave on the spot directions to the concerned officers for time bound redress
