On Wednesday, the Congress criticized the Modi administration for its handling of the border crisis with China, asking when the government would move “beyond the rhetoric” to defend “Bharat Mata” and when the status quo ante would be restored at the frontier.
Randeep Surjewala, general secretary of the Congress, stated, “19 round of talks with China fail, talks fail every time for last 3 Years,” referring to articles published in the media.
Following two days of military discussions, India and China released a joint statement on Tuesday saying they had agreed to preserve peace and tranquility along the border regions and work together to settle the outstanding concerns along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
There was no quick breakthrough in the withdrawal of soldiers at the remaining friction sites, but the readout on the 19th round of Corps Commander-level meeting characterized the discussions as ”good, productive, and in-depth.
”Status Quo Ante as in April 2020 not restored for three Years and three Months,” Surjewala said.
”Chinese continue to Block Indian Soldiers at the Y Junction nicknamed ‘Bottleneck’, within our land. ”Indian Forces can’t ‘Petrol 26 out of 65 Petroling Points’ in Depsang Plains near the key DBO Airstrip or CNN Junction near Demchok! The head of the Congress announced on X (previously Twitter) that the Chinese were blocking access to fueling stations 10, 11, 11A, 12, and 13.
Has the Modi government come to terms with the ”ceding of over 1,000 square kilometers of Indian Territory seized by the Chinese?” Surjewala questioned the Modi administration on this issue.
When will re-releasing ‘Red Eyes’ in China bring things back to the way they were in April 2020? The Congress Rajya Sabha member demanded to know whether Prime Minister Modi still maintains that “no one entered Indian territory,” as he addressed the All Party Meeting on 20th June, 2020, or if he “misled the Nation.”
And is the Army Chief incorrect to declare that the Chinese had unlawfully invaded Indian territory, as Surjewala questioned, given that “no one entered Indian Territory”?
He also wondered, “When will the Modi Government go beyond the rhetoric to protect “BHARAT MATA”?”
The Congress has been investigating the border issue with China and asking questions of the administration.
