Chinese foreign minister meets counterpart from Sri Lanka

Since establishing diplomatic connections, China and Sri Lanka, according to Qin, have respected and supported one another, serving as an excellent example of cordial interactions and mutually beneficial collaboration between nations of various sizes. He urged the two sides to advance high-level and people-to-people interactions, fully implement the significant agreement achieved by the leaders of both nations, and work together to build a high-quality Belt and Road.

Qin continued by saying that China will do all it could to support Sri Lanka’s economic and social progress as well as the enhancement of the standard of living for its people.

Sabry hailed China as a great friend and crucial development partner, saying Sri Lanka treasured the selfless support given by the Chinese government and people to its national independence and economic development. Sabry also thanked China for its invaluable assistance in helping Sri Lanka manage the debt problem and get through short-term challenges.

According to Sabry, Sri Lanka will keep upholding the one-China policy firmly, ensuring the Belt and Road initiative’s implementation, cooperating closely with China on multilateral occasions, and fostering the expansion of bilateral relations.

In addition, the two sides discussed concerns they shared on local and global problems. According to Qin, China will collaborate with other nations to protect regional and global peace, stability, and prosperity as well as to create a community with a shared destiny for mankind in the face of complicated and turbulent conditions.
