## Fit India campaign organized at J&K’s Udhampur to promote physical fitness ##

In the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Udhampur has organized a “Fit India freedom Run” under the aegis of central government’s Fit India movement at Mini Stadium Udhampur.
Deputy Director (Planning), Anil Sharma was the special guest on the occasion.
All activities were held under the patronage of Dr Saleem- Ul- Rehman, Director General Youth Services & Sports J&K, and the supervision of S. Swarn Singh, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Udhampur.
The fit India freedom run covered different locations of Udhampur viz Gole market, Venus Chowk, Hospital road, Ramnagar Chowk, Main Bazaar etc and returned back to Mini Stadium Udhampur.
Around 190, ZPEO’s, PEL, PEM’s, PET’s, ReK’s, including NYC/NYK, field staff, senior citizens, students, scouts and guides Police personnel participated in the run.
Speaking on the occasion, DYSSO Udhampur said that the campaign is aimed at encouraging the people to include physical activity and sports in their everyday life to stay physically fit and active in order to contribute to nation building.
He highlighted the importance of physical and mental fitness in the development of healthy society.
He further said that several activities will be performed at school level to improve the fitness level of school going students. He advised all the participants to continue the activities on a regular basis.
