The leaders of Japan and the European Union decided to start a strategic discussion on Thursday in order to strengthen their security alliance and their collaboration on semiconductors and other economic concerns. The foreign ministry level discussions are intended to promote collaboration between Japan and the 27 EU countries in light of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and China's military expansion.
