Imran Khan hid his assets claims Pak ECP!

A new damning revelation has hit Pakistan’s polity in the new year. This time, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has revealed that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) had given false information on funding received from abroad and in fact, hid its real assets. The report of the ECP’s scrutiny committee has come like a bombshell to the party and its leader at a time when the Prime Minister stands isolated both domestically and internationally. According to the ECP report, the PTI did not report funds received to the tune of Pak Rupees (PKR) 310 million. Little wonder then that the opposition in Pakistan led by JeI chief Fazlur Rehman has called the PTI, a “party of thieves”. Fazlur Rehman states that according to the ECP report Imran Khan hid 5

Pakistan’s role in supporting the growth of global terrorism

In the recently released Country Reports on Terrorism 2020, the Bureau of Counterterrorism of the U.S. Department of State has once again underlined Pakistan’s persistence as the fountainhead of terrorism, posing a threat to regional stability and international security. The American report is another evidence of Pakistan’s continued duplicity on the issue of terrorism and its use of terrorist groups as proxies in its geopolitical pursuits. But Pakistani establishment continues to live in a denial mode. The annual report noted that in 2020 terrorist groups targeting Afghanistan — including the Afghan Taliban and affiliated Haqqani Network, and groups targeting India, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its affiliated front organisations Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) — have continued to operat

End of hybrid regime in Pakistan near

The first clear signs of the hybrid regime in Pakistan crumbling come from the resounding defeat of the ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) in local elections in party leader Imran Khan’s backyard, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. This was a defeat which Khan had feared but not expected in KP since his relationship began to sour with the military establishment early this year. Prime Minister Imran Khan, whose ascendancy to the Islamabad throne was made possible by the army, especially the ISI, had not thought the military would pull the rug under his feet in a critical local election. But the army quietly looked the other way and let the pins falls on the PTI candidates. This is the second round of the battle between partners of the hybrid regime. In the first, Imran Khan had shown th

Gwadar protests show the basic exploitative nature of Chinese investments

Massive protests have rocked Gwadar, the ‘jewel piece’ of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Angry locals have demanded basic governance, even as authorities continue to divert resources to construct the port and overlook the locals’ grievances. These protests have again brought to fore the exploitative nature of Chinese investments in Pakistan, which have only benefitted China and the Punjabi elite of Pakistan while impoverishing the locals. No wonder the CPEC is often ridiculed as the China-Punjab Economic Corridor, designed to serve only the interests of Punjab province and ensure its domination over other provinces.     Since November 15, the port city of Gwadar has witnessed frenzied protests by workers of some political parties, civil rights activists, fi

Uyghur doctoral student arrested from Chinese University

China is not stopping its atrocities on Uyghur people. China has arrested a doctoral student who is a student in Xinjiang region and has earned academic achievements. Abduqadirjan Rozi, a 35-year-old graduate management student at Sun Yat-sen University, won the 2015 National College Student English Competition in China and in 2018 was named the university’s student of the year and the 'Model Person of the Powerful New Generation', Radio Free Asia reported. US visa rejection due to spying of technology

Pushkar Sinha The US government has rejected the visas of over 500 Chinese students by enforcing a policy set up by the Donald Trump administration. This is another solid action taken by USA against China. The policy has been put in place to prevent Chinese students from stealing American technology and giving it to the Chinese military. Chinese spying had become rampant in the US in the past few years. Even those students, who were already enrolled in US universities, have found their visas have been taken away. Many Chinese students were hoping to go back to universities in America after attending classes at home in China. Students from various disciplines have been targeted out, especially STEM fields where Chinese spying is extensive. Hence, even those students who were enrol...

China to deploy military personnel on Bagram airbase

The representation of US’s 20 years in Afghanistan can be dome by the Bagram airbase where China is considering to deploy the its military personnel and economic development officials. China is considering deploying military personnel and economic development officials to Bagram airfield, perhaps the single-most prominent symbol of the 20-year U.S. military presence in Afghanistan. The Chinese military is currently conducting a feasibility study about the effect of sending workers, soldiers and other staff related to its foreign economic investment program known as the Belt and Road Initiative in the coming years to Bagram, according to a source briefed on the study by Chinese military officials, who spoke to U.S. News on the condition of anonymity. China’s Regulatory Crackdown: No Sector Is Safe

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding this year, is moving aggressively to solidify popular support for continued Communist Party rule in the country. In the name of promoting social equality and reasserting control over the economy and private life, President Xi Jinping is cracking the whip on every sphere from the tech industry to the education sector and from culture to lifestyle. The pace of the regulatory crackdown is such that no sector is safe. The Communist regime is going after some of the country’s largest private enterprises in a bid to clock back what it perceives as the capitalist excesses of a previous era. Now, the party is making it increasingly clear that it intends to insert itself into the private lives of Chine

Pak’s new weapon of terror in Kashmir: ISKP

The Taliban victory in Afghanistan has given Pakistan a new set of hard-core trained and experienced jihadis, newer weapons, strategy and offensive tactics in urban warfare, especially in holding against a military force. These assets will form part of Pakistan’s attempts to stoke militancy in Kashmir in the coming weeks, before the winter sets in. One of the key elements of this new strategy would be to send cadres from JeM and LeT under the banner of Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP), a convenient way for Pakistan to claim deniability and avoid sanctions. Since ISKP specialises in mass casualty attacks, Kashmir is likely to witness attacks against security forces or installations, government offices and tourists. These attacks could be in the form of suicide bombings, bomb
